Chosen for This Assignment

Day 2: Chosen for This Assignment
Scripture
Isaiah 41:10
“Do not fear, for I am with you…”
Devotional
There are days when the weight feels heavier than expected.
Appointments.
Therapies.
Advocating.
Explaining.
Repeating.
Standing in spaces where you feel like you have to fight just to be heard.
And sometimes… quietly… you may ask:
“Why me?”
But what if the question isn’t punishment—
what if it’s
purpose?
God does not assign without equipping.
The same God who entrusted you with your child
also deposited strength inside of you
that you may not have discovered any other way.
You didn’t just become a parent—
you became:
- an advocate
- a protector
- a voice
- a safe place
- a covering
Not because you had all the answers—
but because you were
chosen to grow into them.
And even when you feel like you’re not doing enough…
God is not measuring you by perfection.
He sees your consistency.
Your effort.
Your love.
And He says:
“I chose you for this child.”
Reflection
God does not randomly assign children.
If He entrusted this child to you—
it means He also entrusted you with the
grace to carry it.
Even on the hard days…
even in the unknown…
you were
chosen.
Not because you are perfect—
but because you are
called.
Prayer
God, when I feel overwhelmed, remind me that I was chosen and equipped for this journey.
Strengthen me where I feel weak and give me wisdom where I feel unsure.
Help me walk in confidence, knowing I was chosen for this assignment.
Amen.
Affirmation
I am chosen, equipped, and strengthened for this journey.
Reflection Prompt
Where have I seen God give me strength I didn’t know I had?
